Rainbow Heart pattern.

As an extra to the Rainbow pattern from my last post,
here is a pattern for a little rainbow 3D heart.

Fun to make and pocket sized, they are perfect for popping in the post to anyone
who might be in need of some happy mail at this time.

For my hearts I used Ricorumi DK cotton and a 3mm hook.
The pattern is written in UK terms.
You will also need a small amount of toy stuffing.

As you work through the heart and change the colours simply tie your
ends together tightly on the inside of the heart, as these will all be hidden away
once the heart is stuffed and finished off.

Heart tips: Make 2.
Round 1: Using RED make a Magic Ring and work 4 dc in to the ring.
Round 2: Work 2dc in to stitch from Round 1. 8 sts.
Round 3: ( 1 dc, 2dc in the next st ) x 4. 12 sts.
Round 4: ( 1 dc in to each of the next 2 sts, 2dc in the next st ) x 4. 16 sts. Work the final yarn over of this round in ORANGE.Cut RED leaving a tail long enough to tie.

Round 5: In ORANGE work 1 dc in to each st. 16 sts.
Round 6: As Round 5. Work the last yarn over of this round in YELLOW. Cut ORANGE leaving a tail long enough to tie.
( Tie off any ends inside the heart)

Round 7:  In YELLOW work 1 dc in to each st. 16 sts. Finish one of the heart tips off at this point.
For the second heart tip, do not finish off at this point.
Round 8: Take the two hearts tips and flatten them, hold them together so that all four edges are together, and then working in dc join the two inner edges together with 6 dc. This 'seam' of 6 stitches will be on the inside of your finished heart. NOw, continuing in YELLOW, work a round of dc all the way around the base of each of the 2 heart tips.Work the last yarn over of this round in GREEN. Cut YELLOW leaving a tail long enough to tie.
( Tie off any ends inside the heart)

Round 9: In GREEN , dc all the way around, working 2dc tog at each side.
Round 10:  dc all the way around, working 2dc tog at each side.Work the last yarn over of this round in BLUE. Cut GREEN leaving a tail long enough to tie.

Round 11: In BLUE repeat round 9.
Round 12: Repeat round 10, working last yarn over in INDIGO. Cut BLUE leaving a tail long enough to tie.
( Tie off any ends inside the heart)

Round 13: In INDIGO dc to the side of the heart, dc2tog, dc to the centre of the heart, dc2tog, dc to the other side, dc 2 tog, dc to the end of the round working the last 2dctog.
Round 14: Repeat Round 13, working the last yarn over in VIOLET.Cut INDIGO leaving a tail long enough to tie.

Stuff the heart firmly.

Round 15: In VIOLET ( 1 dc, 2dctog) all the way around.
Add any remaining stuffing.
Round 16: As Round 15, close to finish.
