This little basket of scrumptious wool and jute string
will be my constant companion for some time to come,
as from these things,
40 little hearts need to materialise.
They don't take too long and I have plenty of time as they are
not needed until Megs wedding in August ...
.... but I thought I should make a start nevertheless.
♥
Progress was slow with only one crossing the production line on Saturday,
but thanks to a cold and grey day, and a log fire being lit at 12:00 pm yesterday
afternoon the grand total of 5 has been achieved !
Ha, two years ago I was in the same position as you except mine were blue linen rolled roses for my daughter's wedding!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! :)
I am really enjoying it - hope it lasts through to the 40th one ! K xx
DeleteWe're on with saving tin can, jam jars, squirreling away large fallen branches in the woods behind us for collection later and purchasing wooden ladders from ebay to make an arch for Becky's wedding.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant Anne - Its such fun isn't it ? We need jam jars too, but need to get a wiggle on with that one as haven't started collecting yet. K xx
DeleteThank you Jooles, I just might need it ! K xx
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely, I bet this wedding will be uber gorgeous. I have taken a leave from your book and took my knitting on a day out last week, when it lashed down I took refuge in a café and knocked up another 5 rows.
ReplyDeletePerfect, a day out AND crochet ! Kxx
DeleteNo weddings (my daughter is only 7!!!) but I always have a crochet bag to go with a project I some description. I think this could be the perfect project for the next two weeks for me!! Best of luck with the remaining 35!!
ReplyDeleteYou just can't beat crochet on the go, Kxx
DeleteIts brilliant that you're making for your daughter, my 10 year old has just entered the "everything mum makes is naff" phase. I suppose that's it for the next decade or so. Oh well it was nice while it lasted!
ReplyDeleteJillxo
It'll come back round again I'm sure, girls are fickle things ! K xx
DeleteI love them and the shade of red, at least there's plenty of time and they're nice and quick to make xx
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to be a little more prepared than I was with my Christmas makes, K xx
DeleteOh they're gorgeous, they will look so beautiful all together. The yarn is scrumptious, such a delicious deep red, and you've stitched them perfectly. You honestly make the nicest things. I'm expecting to see at least twelve next time I'm here. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteI'll do my best CJ, Kxx
DeleteThey look lovely, very cute, I'm sure you won't get tired of making them xx
ReplyDeleteI hope not, there's something very satisfying about them because they work up so quickly, K xx
DeleteHi Kate, Only 35 more to go then I'm sure you could whip those up of a lunch time. They are going to look beautiful as part of Megs wedding. Lucky girl to have such a talented mum.
ReplyDeleteAh thank you Mitzi - I have to admit its lots of fun getting everything planned, K xx
DeleteThey're lovely Kate, gorgeous colour and the Rowan siena gives a lovely finish. I'm sure you'll have them done in plenty of time, remember how quickly all those pom poms multiplied for the lovely blanket you made recently! Happy heart-making.
ReplyDeleteJane xx
Thank you Jane, K xx
DeleteHow organised are you! Getting preparations done and having a to go kit to hand too! The hearts are wonderful and will be gorgeous for Meg's wedding!! How fabulous! They will look pretty piled up in your lovely heart shaped bowl this month too - two for one decorations that way! xx

DeleteOh, they're so cute! I love that you're making these, it will be really fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer and thank s for dropping by as always, K xx
DeleteThese are gorgeous, just adorable.Your tension is so neat and the heart shape so clear. You could maybe just hang that five as a little Valentine's decoration, to spur you on to complete the other 35? xx
ReplyDeleteFive a day, eh? The hearts are lovely, and will make your daughter's wedding!
ReplyDeleteHi Kate...I hope you've had a lovely start to 2015!...I can't think of anything better than sitting by a roaring log fire heart making! They look lovely ♥
