Facecloth Fun ....

These little facecloths were the first things I made for Lovecrochet.com
and it seems absolutely ages ago now !
I really loved making them and the tutorial wasn't too tricky to write up either,
which was a blessing as it was the first time I had ever really done
anything like that outside of my blog.
I've been dying to show them to you all ever since they were finished
and now I can as they were featured in this weekends Tutorial over on the lovecrochet blog.

The cotton yarn that I used was utterly gorgeous -
it was literally like crocheting with clouds !
It's unbelievably soft and although it's a DK it works up to a lovely chunky texture
that's perfect for these little facecloths.

The colour combination of bright pink and bright green
is one of my all time favourites too.

The pattern really couldn't be simpler:

Using a 4mm hook make a chain of 40.
Work in rows of DC, remembering to Chain 1 at the beginning of each row.
Make the cloth to the required size and on your final row ( right side )
just continue on working in DC all the way around the cloth to create a neat edge.

I added a little border,

sewed on a ribbon tag in one corner

and that's it !

They make the perfect gift ......
or infact ... the perfect Giveaway !

Following on from my post last week ....
these two little packages below are my way of thanking you all for all
the support and encouragement you have given me as I head towards my second
 bloggy Birthday next week.

All you need to do to enter is just drop by and say Hello !
I often wonder who reads my blog and it has been so lovely that so many of you
left comments last week and introduced yourselves.

So, if you haven't had a chance to say Hi yet -
either here on my Blog or on my Facebook page or over on Instagram -
you have one more week before two of you lovely ladies
have their name picked out a hat ...
a crochet hat of course !

  1. Is it really two years since you pootled onto the bloggy scene, Kate? A very happy bloggiversary to you my friend. I won't enter your lovely giveaway as I won last year but can vouch for just how lovely your facecloths are!!!

I've never been very keen on crocheting with cotton but am currently using the exact same yarn and am getting quite smitten.

  3. Happy second anniversary Kate, this is a lovely space to visit and I hope you continue for a long long time.

Your facecloths are lovely, I like the Rowan cotton and they have some lovely colours at the moment. They used to do it in gorgeous duck egg blue, which I made a blanket with, but I gave the blanket away; I do have 1 ball left, however, waiting patiently.

    Have a lovely anniversary week.

These facecloths are gorgeous and they seem so easy to make. If I hadn't already so many WIPs in my basket I would try the pattern immediately. Have a nice evening, Viola
